#MyWritingCorner: Little Girl by Apantaku Ifeoluwa

I wish I could be a little girl again
When flowers and sun would be all I care
When I could look so simple and plain
When I wouldn’t have to at the mirror stare

I wish I could be a little girl again
When mum would read me a bedtime story
When I could eat and not think about weight gain
When I could live life without no worry

I wish I could be a little girl again
When I could act like I wanted, carefree
When I could laugh all I wanted and not be called insane
When I wouldn’t at the bulge of feelings flee

I wish I could be a little girl again
When I could be enthusiastic about every day
When I could dance naked in the rain
When I could run the mall taking every way

I wish I could be a little girl again
When I didn’t have to worry about every action
When I didn’t know what was migraine
When I didn’t have to bother about people’s reactions

I wish I could be a little girl again
When I cared for a lot about world peace
When I could hover in the air with my toy plane
When I could blissfully live my life at ease.
